Chaga
(Inonotus obliquus)

Chaga, a medicinal birch tree fungus scientifically known as Inonotus obliquus, has gained recognition for its potential health benefits. Recognized for its distinctive appearance, Chaga presents as a black, charcoal-like mass protruding from the bark of the host tree.

Packed with antioxidants, Chaga is believed to contribute to the body's defense against oxidative stress, supporting overall well-being. Research suggests that Chaga may have immune-boosting properties, potentially enhancing the body's ability to fight off infections and diseases due to an incredibly high level of antioxidants. In fact, chaga ranks higher on scale than acai berries, which tends to win most of the praise as one of the best superfoods.  Additionally, it contains betulinic acid, which is thought to have anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects. Some traditional medicine practices also attribute Chaga with aiding digestion, physical endurance,, nutrient absorption, regenerating, rejuvenating and nourishing skin cells which may help with firmness and elasticity of your skin. Chaga has also been known as an adaptogen and combating stress.

Chaga thrives in cold climates and the colder climate, the higher quality of the Chaga.. We proudly handpick our wild Chaga from native birch trees in the remote and largely inhabited mountains of Siberia. This area is a cold subarctic region of the Northern Hemisphere that lies just south of the Arctic Circle and comprises the world's largest biome. Winters in these regions are extremely harsh with temperatures that can drop below -78 degrees Fahrenheit (-70 Celsius). Siberian history too celebrates the amazing birch fungus for its health benefits in helping strengthen and heal the body naturally and native Siberian’s affectionately refer to it as “black gold”.

Whether consumed as a tea, extract, or supplement, Chaga's purported health benefits have contributed to its popularity as a natural remedy and wellness supplement and continue to captivate both scientists and enthusiasts alike.
